Additional information

The first Boyd Alexander – who died in 1825 – had a sister, Wilhelmina Alexander (1756–1843)  who was

‘The Bonnie Lass o‘ Ballochmyle’  immortalised in the song written by Robert Burns.

Wilhelmina  never married and treasured the manuscript of Burns’ song until her dying day.

It is widely believed that she is buried in the Alexander family lair in All Hallows churchyard.
